CTEA (About Us)
The Convergence Transportation Electronics Association (CTEA) was created for the purpose of encouraging and promulgating technical and technology management information exchange on a global basis in the field of transportation electronics. CTEA does so by engaging dialogue between the automotive and electronics industries and government and academia, to improve the understanding of common problems and timely application of electronics to on-highway and off-highway ground vehicles for the betterment of society. CTEA also supports science education, programs, and curriculum through contributions to the Convergence Education Foundation. The underpinning of CTEA is creating opportunities for personal networking of influential people working in the automotive and electronics fields. Following are the four strategic objectives identified by the CTEA Board.
1. Personal and Organizational Networking – The CTEA will identify and facilitate the networking of the most influential people and organizations involved in all facets of electronic technology in order to enhance ground vehicle related electronics, mechanics and communications.
2. Events – The CTEA will conduct a premier Convergence Conference event that will draw together the identified people and organizations to establish and maintain personal and professional relationships. In addition, the CTEA will initiate and facilitate forums that further the cross fertilization of technologies and continuity of contact between the various industries and Vehicle applications.
3. Information and Communication – The CTEA will gather and communicate information that will reflect the past, present and projected future state of the fusion of electronics, mechanics and communications in ground vehicle systems.
4. Strategic Leadership - In the area of Automotive Electronics, the CTEA will provide strategic leadership for SAE and strategic vision for automotive industry OEM’s and Suppliers.
